The house of José Saramago
Floor 0 of Chalet Júlia was once the home of the Portuguese writer José Saramago, awarded with the Nobel Prize in Literature, his wife Ilda Reis and his daughter Violante. “Levantado do chão” (1980/2012), “Memorial do Convento” (1982/1987), “O Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis” (1984/1991) and "Ensaio sobre a Cegueira" (1995) are some of the most relevant books written by José Saramago.
